Visegrad Fund Scholarships Program for citizens of Visegrad countries

This program is available to citizens of Visegrad countries (citizens of Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia)  who wish to apply for scholarships to pursue studies at accredited universities or institutes in the V4 countries, as well as in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

The International Visegrad Fund, headquartered in Bratislava, is an international organization established by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries, which include the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Republic of Poland, and the Slovak Republic. This fund represents the sole institutionalized form of regional cooperation among the Visegrad Group nations.

Eligibility

Citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine can apply for a scholarship to study in the Visegrad countries.

Eligibility criteria

Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• Applicants are eligible to apply for the VSP for a maximum term of support of 4 semesters for master students and 2 semesters for post-master students.
• Appli­cants must have either com­pleted a Bachelor’s pro­gram or—in spe­cific cases (if the study pro­gram is not divided into dis­tinct Bachelor’s and Master’s study programs)—completed at least 3 years (6 semesters) of higher-education before start­ing the schol­ar­ship.
• The country of the applicant’s citizenship must be
  different from the country of the host institution. Applicants can
  already be enrolled at the university for which they seek support; their
  previous levels of university studies, however, must be completed in a
  country other than where he/she applies for the scholarship.
• The distance between the applicant’s current employer/university or the
  permanent residence and the host university/institute should exceed 150
  km.

Value

• • Study/research period of support is 1–2 semesters for full-time Master’s level studies or full-time post-Master’s studies/research.

• The amount of the support is €3,000/semester for scholar + €1,500/semester for the host institution.

Application process

• Application Procedure: Applicants are strongly recommended to read the program’s rules to see the specific information required for applying. Applying for the Visegrad Scholarship Program is pos­si­ble only through the online appli­ca­tion sys­tem by April 15, 12 PM (noon) and must include the following uploaded
  documents written in English or accompanied by a translation (either
  certified by a sworn translator or by the university official):
• Supporting Documents: When applying for a Master’s scholarship, you must provide a scanned
  copy of a valid identification document, transcripts for the most recent
  two fully completed semesters, and a letter of acceptance from the host
  university that is not more than 3 months old. If you are applying for a
  Post-Master’s scholarship, you need to submit a scanned copy of a valid
  identification document and a letter of acceptance from the host
  university, which should include a detailed study or research plan and
  should also be no more than 3 months old. All mandatory documents must
  be prepared in English and submitted (as scans) through the online
  application system
• Language Requirement: International students whose native language is not English often must take an English proficiency test before they attend any accredited university/institute.
