International Student Scholarships at Alfred State College

These scholarships are open to all international students seeking to enroll in an undergraduate program at Alfred State. Applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and sufficient proficiency in the English language will be eligible for this $7,000 scholarship

International students who meet the eligibility criteria will
automatically receive scholarships, and there is no need to submit a
separate application for these awards. Please note that these
scholarships are exclusively offered to new students who intend to
reside in Alfred State residence halls. International students who are
entering Alfred State through agents or special articulation agreements
may not be eligible for these scholarships.

Application Deadline: Recommended application deadline dates are May 15 for an August entry or October 15 for a January entry

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:

• The applicants must have a 213 TOEFL exam score (79-80 on Internet-based exams, 550 on paper exams).
• The applicants must have a 3.25 college GPA (90 or 3.4 overall high school average may be substituted).
• The applicants must have a combined reading/writing and math SAT score of1270,
• The applicants must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.
• The applicants must meet any 2 of the above criteria.

Value

International Cultural Scholarship

Offers up to $3,000 annually to accepted international students who have high school or college GPA of 2.5.

International Excellence Scholarship

Offers up to $7,000 annually to international students who meet two of the following four criteria:

• 213 TOEFL exam score (79-80 on Internet-based exam, 550 on paper exam),
• 3.25 college GPA (90 or 3.4 overall high school average may be substituted),
• 1270 combined reading/writing and math SAT,
• and/or are a member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.

International Merit Scholarship

Offers up to $3,000 annually to international students who meet two of the following four criteria:

• 195 TOEFL exam score (71 on Internet-based exam, 525 on paper exam),
• 3.0 college GPA (an 88 or 3.25 overall high school average may be substituted),
• 1170 combined reading/writing and math SAT,
• and/or are a member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.

Application process

• Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
• High school secondary diploma
• Post-secondary experience
• Official bank statement
• One academic reference letter
• Copy of passport
• Admission Requirements: The applicants must possess a high school/secondary diploma. SAT or ACT scores are optional.
• Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
• TOEFL IBT – 79
• TOEFL PBT – 550
• TOEFL CBT – 213
