Advanced Research and Innovation in Environmental Sciences (ARIES) PhD Scholarships @ University of Kent

Date:

The University of Kent takes pride in its participation in the Advanced Research and Innovation in Environmental Sciences (ARIES) Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

As one of the 17 Doctoral Training Partnerships in the UK, ARIES is dedicated to preparing the next generation of environmental scientists with the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehensively comprehend and address the challenges facing our planet. ARIES accomplishes this by:

  1. Cultivating multiple cohorts of scientists with advanced expertise, interdisciplinary perspectives, and substantial potential for success in a wide range of postgraduate career paths.
  2. Establishing a diverse and integrated training partnership that enables our postgraduate researchers (PGRs) to tackle key environmental science issues through state-of-the-art and world-leading research.
  3. Providing comprehensive training to all of our PGRs in modern data management, analysis, interrogation, and presentation techniques, spanning areas from bioinformatics to artificial intelligence.
  4. Ensuring that our graduates engage with the intersections of environmental science and societal needs, enhancing their capacity to generate non-academic impact and engage effectively with the public.

Application Deadline: The ARIES studentship competition is now open for entry in October 2023.
